Bodice lining

I'm doing some slippy fabric practice with a lined satin dress, I've done the dress in cotton first so I'm moving on to this. Super amounts of basting and I'm stabilising with tissue paper when I sew.

In the sewing room today

Its t shirt yarn time for my next project. Its a very satisfying activity making something out of useless old rubbishy t shirts, pj's etc. I need alot of yarn so will be doing 2 or 3 a day until the basket is full.

Quilted bunting kit

Made for a friend who has time to fill whilst recovering from a minor op. Its the first one I've made so I'd thought I'd mark the occasion with a few snaps. Looking forward the results, I included the template so it could end up alot longer than the five animals I did.

Machine Pincushion

Inspired by one I saw on Pinterest. I made from a scrap of cord, I'm making some pattern weights out of it. I adapted to go round the side so I can pin from wherever and is fastened with elastic and a snap fastener rather than ribbon. I like how the grey matches. It'll be interesting to see how useful it is.

Delivered

The customer now has it so I can post pics, one before making up and another in situ. It is all from repurposed or donated material. Its four blocks made up of two different designs then randomly appliqued with flowers. The brief was romance, yellow & blue, eclectic. The flowers are lace, pattern and bold. The customer was very happy with it, finished off with thrifted bolsters.

A little bit of applique,  she'll know what its for if she is reading this!

A little star sewing

I'm very much enjoying doing this, just seeing how I fancy going with the triangles :)
