Its huts time

The beach hut roof with a little white perle. I'm going to introduce some colour once the outline is all done.

Picking out the flowers

I'm doing the extra quilting so hopefully the flowers will show up more in the finished quilt. Should I put stalks on?

Next stages

The hexie quilt has had its shirt fronts trimmed and the flowers in the quilt have got fleece pieces ready (one is pinned in place already). I'm picking them out with hand quilting in perle before backing the whole piece with wadding. Make them stand out a bit extra.

I've finished the hand quilting, only took 3 years (very intermittently) so its off to be trimmed and bound. YAY YAY YAY

Its got its shirts on

The shirt fronts are attached to the huge hexagon ready for the next part of the process. They are going to be cut to points to make it into a star. After that who knows in this "please yourself/make it up as you go along" project.

Seaside sewing started

This is a piece I've been wanting to get to for ages, some hand quilting and embroidery planned.

I did do some very boring seam neatening that means I can get on with finishing another summer dress.

Rug delivered

and even more importantly I remembered to take a finished picture of it.

Its new owners were pleased with their belated Easter gift (I made it mainly over Easter)
