Christmas decoration tutorial pt2
Put ribbon on the centre top and a bell (optional) centre bottom. Join the two halves together on four sides, stuff with leftover fleece/material etc. Close the remaining side. You can then embellish with sequins or beads to catch the light. If you have older children they would enjoy doing this part with fabric glue.

Christmas decoration tutorial pt 1
(Part two tomorrow when I've finished it!)
Cut a circle out using a jam jar lid as a template. Out of cardboard cut a 60 degree triangle 5cm x 5cm x 5cm. I used felt, shrunken jumpers & fleece to give colours & textures. Mark out sewing line with the triangle using a sharpie and sew 5 together, do the next 5 and join together leaving one open to let you put stuffing in .... tbc

This square is the top of 'Healer' and is the outside of the piece. My cross stitch time is pretty limited now daylight is scarce.

Day 4 Doodle cloth
This is done exactly as per instructions but looks nothing like the picture of the end result. I shall have to do some investigating as to why!

Day 1 Doodle cloth
Blank! Feeling inspired but a little daunted at my first one. Going to try to do a little every day. I might end up posting a few days at a time as I get forgetful.

Loyalty card taming
Saw this on another blog but they had a fancy hole punch. This was achieved with a bradawl and a little work. Check on the back you are avoiding barcodes, magnetic strips etc. The keyring needs to be a slim one if you are making the holes yourself or you'll damage the cards too much. My purse is so much slimmer now.

Crocheted cord
http://throughtheloops.typepad.com/through_the_loops/2014/10/happy-friday.html
After reading this today, I thought I'd have a go. Mine looks a bit different (no idea why!) but it does look like it'll tangle less.

Repurposed nightie
I needed a new short slip and the ones in the shop were horrrible material & dowdy colours. So hey presto after a hack away at a charity shop buy (£1 and there's some material left) here it is. All flippy and pretty if it shows occasionally.

Flimsy finish
I've got the borders on the hand sewn hexies. It was a bit of a battle as its ended up huge. Its all old stuff, sheets torn up (don't worry they were very worn in the middle and not useable anymore)
I will make a sandwich and baste when I have the energy.
(PS had to stand on the stairs to photograph as its pouring outside and its so big)
