Day 1 - Cutting Out, 35 minutes

All cut out, took a little longer as it's a border pattern. I also wanted the sleeves to have the same flowers on it.

So it didn't end up being from scratch

Did my "Sewing Bee" challenge today. In the jeans pile was a pair I liked the colour of denim jeans that were in my scrap pile so made them into a skirt. It was too big in the waist so made smaller and added elastic so the back does game. The denim has a stretch to it so it's very comfy.

I am wearing it straight away! It probably took 1 1/2 - 2 hours

Crochet upcycle!

This t shirt yarn rug is growing, I'm moving on to a multi coloured outer section soon. It's going to need a good wet and stretch to get it flat.

Another little storage make, a bespoke cloth for the coffee footstool. It's nice having things to hand but tucked away.

I made matching speaker covers too!

Long time no blog..

Been a whirl of cushions and curtains recently but the doodle cloth has managed to make its way onto my lap for some quilting to finish it. Starting with a white perse.

New Beginnings

My creative group's challenge for this month is "New Beginnings".  I have decided to use the themes set to make items to wear each month. I only just realised how little dressmaking I do, but how much I really would like to.

I've a hankering for more vintage inspired clothing so wanted to start with something simple but that had new techniques. I chose to do a circle skirt that I cut free hand. I decided on some stretch tartan that had a reasonable weight to it so it should twirl.  I'm trying to improve at stretch fabric sewing. I chose an exposed zip and a bias hem for other "new" elements.

Bedroom combo

Realised I had never shared the quilt style curtains and matching headboard installed. It's a very cosy comfortable room.

Thank-you mobile

We received these vintage discs and picture as a "Thank-you" from our daughter & her husband after their wedding. What to do with them to display them? They are some of our favourite songs! Ecco a mobile (made from an old one I already had)
